What’s Changing?
With iOS 26, Apple introduced on-device spam detection in the Messages app. The feature, called Filter Spam, is turned on by default.
When enabled:
- Messages identified as spam are automatically moved to a Spam folder
- You do not receive a notification
- The message will not appear in your main inbox
This means important FLUENT text messages could potentially be filtered without you realizing it.
How to Check Your Spam Folder
If you think you may be missing messages from FLUENT:
- Open the Messages app
- Tap the Filters button
- Tap Spam
- Select the message you want to review
⚠️ You cannot reply to or click links in a spam message until you move it back to your Inbox.
How to Recover a Message Marked as Spam
If you find a FLUENT message in your Spam folder:
- Open the message
- Tap Not Spam
- Tap Move to Inbox or Move to Inbox and Report Not Spam
Once moved, the message will appear in your normal conversation list.
How to Turn Filter Spam On or Off
Filter Spam is on by default in iOS 26.
To adjust your settings:
Option 1 – Inside Messages:
- Open Messages
- Tap Filters
- Tap Manage Filtering
- Toggle Filter Spam on or off
Option 2 – In Settings:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Apps
- Tap Messages
- Scroll down and toggle Filter Spam on or off
